VINTAGE THRIFTING | MY FINDS

What can I say, you take this family into any store and we most likely will come out with books in hand. We love to be surrounded by books, new ones, old ones, books for the kids, books for the baby, reference books, cookbooks, novels and travel books. These travel books above had me at their awesome font, and well I love those places. I also love the square photos inside that almost look like instagram photos from yesteryear. We haven’t traveled abroad any time recently so more reason to live vicariously through books before we get going again. Speaking of traveling, my husband and I were just checking out our passports and thinking a special trip together to celebrate 15 years of wedded bliss may be in order in a few short years. I haven’t been to Spain, so?

The children’s book above, The Busy Book by Ali Mitgutsch, is filled with great illustrations and scenes for us all to enjoy with the little one. Reminds me of M. Sasek books that we love so much. Again, I am a sucker for great design and artwork.

Another great love above- linens. I love using real napkins, real place mats and real dishes for all of us, kids included. This bright, marigold yellow and white set above included 4 placemats, 4 napkins and a small table runner for only $12!

Other vintage things that caught our eye (below): cut paper art, copper pots, the most stylish play tea set ever, cool packaged soap, pencil sketches of woodland scenes and a restaurant set of coffee mugs waiting for embellishment.

The boys added a few things to their birthday and Christmas lists, including mostly reference books on science, invention and bird illustration. These kids would love a set of encyclopedias! How ironic is that? And I have a few creative gifts in mind. There is something so cool about finding such enjoyment and use out of something old.
